iMessage is a closed loop system of IM intended exclusively for Apple devices. For computers, and tablets – this will be the email address associated with the Apple ID. In the case of a cellular phone, this could be the Apple ID, or telephone number. On the Welcome page of this site, you would see the iMessage options. Note, that as of 2024-02-04 – Apple does not offer options for iMessage on non-Apple devices.
